Customising Diver-Sim

Some basic parameters of the simulation are determined by the launching HTML web page. Currently, these items are:

• starting tank pressure (bar)
• depth of sea floor (m)
• the manufacturer of the Java environment ("microsoft" or "netscape")

In order to modify these yourself, the procedure is:

1. run Diver-Sim normally
2. switch to the browser window behind the simulation window
3. from the File menu, choose 'Save As...', and save the page.
4. using a text editor such as Notepad, or any other simple text editor, find the section enclosed by <applet> ... </applet> tags. Within this section are a number of parameter statements - change the corresponding values for each to the appropriate settings. bear in mind that these is little or no error checking for these inputs!
5. save the page
6. open in a web browser using File->Open..., or by double-clicking on the icon.
